HKBP Lancat is one of the very first churches in the history of Batak Christianity along with its capital, HKBP Sipirok. This church itself was founded in 1871, the early years of many HKBPs.
In Sunday, 18 January 2026, I humbly introduced myself to the church members who happened to attend the church for sunday worship. Together with both my parents, I stood on the altar to tell the church members about myself and God's mission I was going to be involved in.
It is a proud moment to me that in my last period of being a candidate for Guru Huria, I was installed in one of the oldest churches of HKBP.
It is also a unique experience for me when my three installments, plus one year experience of being a fresh-graduate are in order in terms of the age of the church.
First, I was in HKBP Dolok Hermon in 2022 as a fresh-graduate Guru Huria to be. In 2026 the church will be 23 years old.
Second, I was in HKBP Laguboti in 2023. In 2026 the church will be 142 years old.
Third, I was in HKBP Simaremare Jae in 2024, the oldest Church in Toba Region. In 2026 the chirch will be 143 years old.
And the fourth, I was and will be in HKBP Lancat since the start of 2026. This year, the church will be 155 years old. For your info, the celebration for 150th jubilee was canceled in 2021 due to the Covid-19 outbreaks.
Along with this post, I wish and pray that God will guide me through this challenging experience, as I will be a "pimpinan jemaat" for the first time.
